At Aldeburgh you can visit the medieval Moot Hall and see the fishermen selling their catch from the boats on the shingle beach. Benjamin Britten and Peter Pears began the Aldeburgh Festival in 1948 and it has developed into a year round programme of music and the arts. The Festival Office is in Aldeburgh but most concerts are held at the world famous Snape Maltings Concert Hall.
