Sudbury has a wealth of historic buildings including fine medieval churches. It is perhaps best known as the birthplace of the artist, Thomas Gainsborough, and the elegant Georgian house in which he was born is now a museum. It contains a valuable collection of the artist's work and some of his family possessions.
