City of Dreaming Spires Explore Oxford on foot and you will be amply rewarded. The roof-top views from the Carfax Tower, Sheldonian Theatre or the church towers of St. Mary the Virgin and St. Michael are stunning. Park & Ride car parks are on the outskirts of Oxford. Parking is free with fast, frequent buses to the city centre every few minutes (except Sunday). To fully appreciate the diversity of Oxford you will need to stay several days. Blenheim Palace (01993) 811325, Stratford-upon-Avon and Shakespeare Country are not far away by car, while the enchanting hidden villages of the Cotswolds are within easy travelling distance. Above all, it is easy to reach from London, sea ferry ports and the major airports of Heathrow and Gatwick. You can arrive swiftly by British Rail from London's Paddington Station or by a comfortable bus service from London's Victoria Coach Station. More information and places to visit:
