For top professional sport, The Big Resort in Champ.

Every October we host the Brighton International Ladies Championship at the Brighton Centre which is a premier event on the Women's Tennis Association Tour. The British leg of the World Windsurfing Championships is held in Brighton every May, and Hove hosts the British windsurfing championships. Sussex County Cricket Club - Britain's oldest county side - regularly play internationals at the county ground in Hove. 'The Albion' football team has its home at the Goldstone ground in Hove. And Brighton's Withdean Stadium is home to the Big Resort's own American football team - the B52s.

Brighton Racecourse is impressively sited a-top the South Downs; there's a busy schedule of racing programmes throughout the summer. For horse lovers happy to travel a little further afield, there's 'Glorious' Goodwood, Plumpton, Fontwell, Hickstead and, for polo with the upper crust, Cowdray Park. On Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday nights there is greyhound racing at Hove's Coral Stadium - watch the action, place your bets and enjoy a good meal all at the same time in a restaurant overlooking the arena.

The Big Resort offers and incredible assortment of sports. Indoors at the King Alfred Leisure Centre and Sports Complex you'll find three swimming pools, wild water and toddler slides, snooker, badminton, indoor bowls, ten pin bowling and a fully-equipped fitness centre. Right at the heart of Brighton you can really splash out at the Prince Regent swimming complex, complete with fitness area, solarium and sauna. You will find top-quality squash and badminton courts, a gym and aerobics studio downstairs at Corals Squash Club beside Hove's greyhound stadium. Withdean Sports Stadium has squash courts as well as an athletics track. Play futuristic war games in the Mega Zone or at Lazer Warriors - go on your own or in a team.

The Big Resort is sited just below 80 miles of the South Downs and just above seven miles of coastline! Try horse riding, walking, hiking or mountain biking along the South Downs Way. Go hang-gliding and parascending off Devil's Dyke. Enjoy a full range of watersports along the seafront and at the Lagoon Watersports Centre. Try bungee-jumping and go-karting at Brighton Marina. You can hire equipment and receive tuition from the experts. There are international-standard all-year-round tennis courts on Hove seafront and at Withdean Stadium's moder new tennis centre and at dozens of other municiple courts in the Resort.

In Brighton & Hove, golfers are spoilt for choice. There are no less than five golf courses within ten minutes' drive of the centre of town. There are bowling and croquet greens on Hove Lawns beside the sea. And there's kite flying wherever you like!
